
Alyre LeBlanc
Alyre LeBlanc, 92, of Moncton, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born July 5, 1918 in Memramcook, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Léonie (Belliveau) LeBlanc. Alyre was a retired carpenter and cabinet maker with 33 years of service at CN, a member of the Memramcook Royal Canadian Legion, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11985, a parishioner of Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix for over 60 years, and a veteran of World War II having served overseas as a signaller with the 4th Medium Artillery. During his retirement years, he had many pastimes including social dancing, bowling, woodworking, oil painting, gardening, reading, and travelling. A devoted family man and loving husband, he will be sadly missed by his wife of 68 years, Emerise (Bourque) LeBlanc, a son, Eugène LeBlanc (Huguette) of Shediac; six daughters: Rose-Marie Bertolin (Umberto) of Riverview, Thérèse Cormier (Ronald), Violette LeBlanc (Roger) all of Moncton, Patricia Leger (Roméo), Hélène Dupuis (Rhéal), and Carmelle Poirier (Claude) all of Dieppe, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his five brothers and five sisters: Philippe 1, Philippe 2, Pacifique, Aubrey, Avila, Alida, Alva, Eliza, Evangeline, and Anna.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday October 4 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday morning from 9:30 until time of departure (10:15) then to Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church (Murphy Avenue) Moncton, from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. The Royal Canadian Legion, will hold a service of remembrance Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A contribution to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation, in memory of Alyre, would be appreciated. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and support staff of Auberge du Soleil in Dieppe for the wonderful care they provided to Alyre, also to Dr. Victor Robichaud and the staff at the Dumont Hospital.
