ALLISTER WILLIAM MACAULAY

FUNERAL
"Allister William MacAulay"
The funeral of the late Allister MacAulay who passed away September 20, 2010 was held Friday, September 24, 2010 at Knox United Church, Glace Bay with Rev. John Finlayson celebrating Allister's life. The comforting words, prayers and selected passages by Rev. Finlayson touched our hearts, along with the appropriate hymns sung by the Know Church Choir accompanied by Jim MacNeil, organist. A very moving reading Ecclesiastics 3:1-9 was beautifully done by a good friend Mrs. Hildegarde O'Neill. Members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 3, Glace Bay performed the Last Post Ceremony for Allister who was a Veteran of World War II. Pallbearers were Donald MacAulay Jr., Crawford Tracey, Gordon (Turk) Stewart and Carlo Nardaccio. Burial took place at St. Anne's Cemetery with Rev. Finlayson officiating at the graveside service.
May He Rest in Peace

To the staff at Taigh Na Mara especially the nurses of the D.V.A. Wing, I can't thank you enough for your care and kindness to Allister. Your caring and competence showed through when he returned "home" from the Glace Bay Hospital for his final journey. To Brenda and Sonia the O.T. My sincerest thanks to Sharon Nega, a very special volunteer at Taigh Na Mara, for her total committment not only to the residents but especially to Allister when he needed the "angel" to watch over him. My very special thanks to Gary and Nancy MacAulay, Belinda and Ralph Hoffman for your many acts of kindness towards Allister and to me especially when he was in the Glace Bay Hospital, your support couldn't have come at a better time. You know how to lift a person's spirits when the chips are down. Thanks again.
