Ronald (Major) Braye

(1931-2010)- Promoted to Glory from St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 in the presence of his three sons. Predeceased by wife Maisie, parents Uriah and Caroline Braye, brothers: David and Munden. Leaving with loving memories are sons: Howard (Edith), David (Elaine) and Randy (Connie); six grandchildren: Christopher, Mark (Nancy), Sarah, Andrew, Erin and Adam; two great-grandchildren: Hannah and Micah; brothers: Wilmore (Dot), Junior (Marjorie), Don (Maisie), sister Shirley Sparkes and sister-in-law Beryl Braye. A Salvation Army officer for almost 60 years, Ronald is remembered for his faithfulness to the congregations to which he ministered, as well as his compassion in the social services appointments in which he served in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Ontario and Manitoba. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Tuesday, Oct. 5 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Service of Celebration will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, 106 Ashford Dr., Mount Pearl. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. No flowers by request. Donations can be made to the Salvation Army Green's Hr. Band Fund or the Salvation Army Mount Pearl Citadel Band Fund. The family wishes to thank the staff, especially Dr. Hiscock and Bev Downey at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital for the excellent care their Dad received in this last week.
