It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rebecca Gertrude Saunders regrets to announce her passing at the Long Term Care Unit in Corner Brook, NL on Tuesday, October 5th, 2010, at the age of 96 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: William (Eva) Madore, Arthur Jr. (Nellie) Targett, Mary (Reg) Menchenton and Anita Pelley; her nine grandchildren and a large number of great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; son-in-law, Vic Maynard; her sisters: Mrs. Pearl Wilton and Mrs. Nora Hewlett. Mother was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Saunders; parents; Irene and Peter LeRoux; her daughter, Katherine; son, Clayton; her siblings: Selma Bayly, Peter, Percy, Ralph and Jack. She also leaves to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. A special thanks to mother's special niece, Mrs. Marina (Ray) Johnson. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, today, Wednesday, October 6th, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, October 7th, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 8th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Parish in Deer Lake with Father Gordon Grace officiating. Burial to follow at the church cemetery at Wight's Road, Deer Lake, NL. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake.
