DYCK - Dennis of Mankota, Sk passed away Monday September 20, 2010 at the age of 56. A memorial service was held on Saturday September 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Mankota Agricultural Hall with Ruby Sayers officiating. Urn bearer was Corey Bedard. A very special power point presentation was done by Brian, Holly, Brent & Amanda. The eulogist was Rick Hahn. The candle was lit by Michelle Blohm. Readers were Cindy Perrault and Jacquie Evernden. Ushers were Brock Perrault, Michelle Blohm, Dean Riggall and Dean Bedard. Honor guard was formed by the school bus kids and also by the school bus drivers with bus lights flashing. Interment Billimun Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were all who shared in Dennis' life. He leaves to mourn his memory; his loving wife Nicole; sons Brian (Holly) and Brent (Amanda); Grandchildren Gabriel and Christina. Sister Shirley Bedard. Numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Numerous cousins and all the bus children that he drove to school over the past 32 years. Dennis was born at Mankota on Sept. 8, 1954. He married Nicole Perrault at Mankota on Aug. 23, 1975. He was predeceased by his father Peter Dyck, mother Dora Dyck (nee Stengler), brother Balzer Dyck and father-in-law Fernand Perrault. Dennis began working at age 15 at the Co-op in Mankota to supplement the family income. He helped his mother farm and over the years held several jobs while farming. He started driving bus in 1978 and continued until Feb. 2010 when his health began to fail. He was devastated when he could no longer drive the bus. Nicole had a nickname for Dennis. "Mr. Fix it". Dennis could fix anything. Dennis' hobby was woodworking. He built countless things over the years including designing and building an oak crib for Christina and 2 "Time-Out" chairs for Gabriel and Christina. He cherished his family and was so proud of his boys. He felt so fortunate to be able to see his grandchildren and adored them. He loved Amanda and Holly like his own daughters and welcomed them into the family with open arms. He always had a smile and was willing to help anyone.
