Wallace Irwin Findlay Phd., age 81 of Harrow, Ontario and Lorne, Pictou County, passed away suddenly October 8, 2010, in Lorne.
Born in Lorne, he was a son of the late Hugh Alexander and Edna Jane (MacKenzie) Findlay.
Wallace was a scientist having worked for Agriculture Canada. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell.
Wallace is survived by his wife, the former Ann (Heslop) , children: David (Sheryl) Findlay, Harrow, ON.; William "Bill" (Laura) Findlay, Rochester, Hills, Michigan; Graham (Janice) Findlay, Hillsdale, ON.; James "Jim" (Paula) Findlay; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Robert (Wendy) Findlay, London, ON; grandchildren: Christopher, Amanda, Lyndsey, Jessica, Melissa (David), Ashley, Jordanne, John, Kaelan, Stephanie, Nicole, Alexandra, Samantha, and Cole, great-grandson Charlie, sister Adele Findlay, Lorne, N.S.
Visitation was held in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell with Rev. Gary Tonks officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery, Foxbrook Rd. Donations in memory of Wallace may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell or a charity of your choice.
