On Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, Tuddie lost a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away quietly surrounded by her loving family at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Joseph D. 'Curly Joe' and Jessie (MacIsaac) Chiasson.
Tuddie was a member of Mount Carmel church, currently the Parish Church of St. Leonard. She enjoyed playing scat once a week with her friends. Tuddie truly loved her family and extended family dearly and will be missed.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bill; sons, Charlie (Peggy) MacLellan, Lingan, and Joe MacLellan, Ottawa; daughters, Anita MacLellan, Fredericton, and Charlene Cameron, Brampton; five grandchildren, Jamie Brewer (Kyla), Fredericton, Jennifer Brewer, Toronto, Anne Louise and Meaghan MacLellan, Lingan, Jessica Cameron, London; two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Eleanor Brewer, Fredericton; one brother, Bernard.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, James 'Fox', Allie and Danny Chiasson, and sister, Tina Hawley.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration for Tuddie will take place Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Carmel Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice/Palliative Care, An Cala Unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
