Alice (White) Kiley

Born In: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada

Passed in: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: October 11th, 2010

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our precious mother, wife and grandmother, Alice Bennett Kiley (White), 74, of Dartmouth who left us peacefully on Oct. 11, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She fought a courageous battle with cancer for a year before deciding it was her time to go Home and be with her Lord. She was an inspiration to us all for her strength and determination.
Born in Glace Bay in 1936, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Coffin) White.
Mom retired from her job as manager with Sears Canada in 1995, after 20 years, to spend more time with her family, especially her grandson DJ. She loved to play cards on weekends and gardening during the week. Along with everyone else, her family of squirrels she fed every day will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wilfred; sons, Gary and Joey; daughter, Darlene; son-in-law, Claude Oppedisano and her grandson, DJ who was the light of her life. Also her sisters, Marie Parent, Rose Fitzner; brothers, Garfield, Bill, Martin, Dice, George and Wilfred.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Walsh, Shirley Kuna and brother, Ronnie.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. W. Verge, the VON and palliative care for their wonderful support and compassion.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Lung Association of N.S.
There will be no visitation, or funeral, as per her request.
Celebrate her life by paying forward love and kindness, as she did every day.
We will rest our heads tonight, knowing we have a very special angel with us always.
