November 9, 1932 - June 9, 2009. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on June 9, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Alfred, his sons Randy (Marylyn), Toronto, Stephen (Roberta), St. John’s, their children Robyn, James, Randy and Nicole; great-grandchildren: Dustyn, Ashley and Jamie Lynn. Helen was the last surviving child of James and Ceceilia Howell of Freshwater, Carbonear. Helen was predeceased by her parents and siblings John Howell, James Howell, Miriam Hazeltine, Anne Sullivan and Jean Andersen; nephews: Raymond Hazeltine, Louise Hazeltine-Boone, John Sullivan and Joanne Howell. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Grace Howell, Doris Abbot, Edie Laite, Tom and Joan Severino, Doug and Jane Laite, Jeanette Laite and Robert Cromwell; nieces and nephews: Ralph, Allison, Tom, Patricia, Rita, Diane, Karen, Helen, Brian and Laurie. Leaving to mourn a much larger circle of family and friends. Special friends Larry, Cathy and Darlene. Visitation to take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Gower Street United Church on Saturday, June 13th, 2009 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow.
