New Glasgow - Jessica E. Stone. It is with great sadness that the family of Jessica Emily (Brown) Stone, of New Glasgow, announce her sudden passing at home on Thursday, October 14, 2010.
Born in 1925 in Lower Greenville, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Adams) Brown.
Jessie taught school in Lower Greenville before moving to Oxford, N.S., where she lived until 1977 before moving to New Glasgow.
She was an avid reader. She spent 25 relaxing winters in Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Hector; sons, Kim (Anne), Jeffrey (Angelia), and Timothy (Danalee), all of New Glasgow; grandchildren: Jonathan; Danielle (Gregory) Park; Chantal (Matthew) Barker; Matthew; Marcus and Michelle; great-grandchildren, Cullen and Liam Park; sisters-in-law, Helen Archibald; Erma (Gordon) Card; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four sisters: Hilda, Nora, Martha and Dorothy; three brothers, Bamford, Levy (Buck) and Tom.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Norman Marple officiating.
