It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Phillip Allen of Saint John who passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 16, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Born 1961 he is the son of Donald and Nancy (Graves) Allen of Saint John. Phil was a graduate of St. Malachy's High School and was a Goalie for the St. Malachy's High School Hockey Team. In later years he was the Goalie for Ritchie's Gents Hockey. Phil worked for a number of years at Atlantic Signs before going into business for himself as a sign designer and graphic artist, Phil-Ray Signs and Decals opening in 1999. He was a self taught wild life artist, a wonderful devoted father, and amazing brother who loved nature and the simple things in life "No Frills for Phil". Besides his parents Phil is survived by his children Dara, Colton and Dylan of Saint John; brothers and sisters Heather Condren of Saint John, Tim (Anne) of Upham, Darrell (Tish) of Saint John, Shawny (Christine) of Quispamsis, Celia Kelson (Larry) of Saint John and Trudy Hunt (Timothy) of Saint John; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many friends and canine companion Brawley.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday, October 19th from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Private family service will be held at later date. Interment to be held at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in Phil's memory can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
