MacCallum, Murray Donald, 82, North River, Col. Co., passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Born in North River, he was a son of the late Percy and Carrie (Langille) MacCallum. He was employed at Atlantic Wholesalers for 28 years retiring as manager to start his own business, MacCallum's Produce. This family business has successfully run for 34 years. His greatest joy was being a husband, father and grandfather. His life revolved around his wife, children and grandchildren.
Murray is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Muriel (Weatherby), children, Judy (David) Ettinger, Ottawa, Gerry (Ginger), Lorna (Mike) Cox, Roger (Karen), Greg (Kenda) all of Truro; grandchildren, Krista (Shane), Holly (Matthew), Jeffrey (Natasha), Tyler (Shauna), Darcy, Nicholas, Matthew, Connor. He was from a family of twelve children, 8 sisters and 3 brothers. He was predeceased by his first wife, Florence Masters.
No visitation by family request. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. in the Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro. Rev. Brian DeLong will officiate with burial to follow in the Bible Hill Cemetery, Bible Hill. Family flowers only.
