Passed peacefully away at home in Mt. Pearl surrounded by her loving family on June 13th, 2009. Leaving to mourn her loving and devoted husband of 42 years Manuel Alves and ever so sadly missed by her children daughter Shirley and son Cyril Quann (predeceased wife Carol Ann), daughter Barbara (son-in-law Dave Rees), daughter Shelia (son-in-law Gerry Cross), son Herald (daughter-in-law Debbie Quann ) who was so special to her she called her daughter! Brothers John (wife Joyce Reelis), Kevin (wife Emma Reelis) and sister Eileen Evans. Also 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. One Uncle Bill (wife Rudy King) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special friends Gerry and Diane Traverse, Doug and Evelyn Norman and Hernani Martins. Special thank you to Dr. K. Essaji and Dr. J. Greenland from the Cancer Clinic and a very heartfelt thank you to our mother’s nurse Sandra Simmons who was so very compassionate and caring. Big note of thanks to Debbie Quann and Barbara Rees who were with her right to the end taking loving care of her. Thank you Marie Lewis. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of The World Church, Topsail Road. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted.
