Rodney Donald Paul passed away at the age of forty years old on October 19th, 2010. An avid dart player with the Fredericton men's 401 league, worked and played bingo at the St. Mary's Entertainment Centre (supervisor), part of the gold medal team for the men's fast pitch team from St. Mary's in Minnesota. An assistant coach to the "A's" Co-ed softball team, (he certainly loved the game). He is survived by his common-law-wife, Julia Paul of eight years and his daughter Allyson Paul, five stepdaughters, Charlotte (Jason), Asha (Chris), Courtney (Nicholas), Julie (Brad), Helen (Peter), his father Donald Paul Sr. (Dawn), sisters April (Tom). Amanda, brothers Donnie and Fred (Chuck) Paul (Sonya), several uncles Billy Paul (Karen), Gary Paul (Joan), Rick Bear (Sue), Ned Bear, Peter Bear, his aunts Debbie McKay (Wayne), Edna Paul, maternal grandmother Rebecca Bear, several cousins, nephews, nieces and step-grandchildren, also godchildren, Roger, Caissie and Kayel, and his best friends, Barry Price and Misty Paul. He is predeceased by his mother Jane Paul, his uncles Arthur Bear, Terry Bear and his aunt Liz Stoneham.
He will be resting at his home at 115 Bear Drive, St. Mary's 1st Nation on Wednesday and Thursday. A funeral service will be held at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, October 22nd at 11 am with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be; Barry Price, Nick Brooks, Walter Brooks, Chuck (Fred) Paul, Jason Brown, Wally Brooks, Chris Gloade and Michael Knockwood. Honorary pallbearers will be, Bobby Price, Todd Paul, Colin Paul, Mark Whitlock, Vince and Hal Sappier, Bill Paul & Peter Short.
