The death of Murray Douglas Pearce, loving husband of Jeannette (Stevens) Pearce occurred on Thursday October 21, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born 1938 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Robert and Mabel (Couglan) Pearce. Murray worked for the Saint John Police Department for 21 years retiring as detective. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Besides his wife Jeannette, he is survived by his children Douglas, Iris and Heidi Pearce; step-children Cynthia Daigle, Stuart Stevens, Cathy MacDonald and Susan Blain; one sister Mrs. Carol McDade of Kennebecasis Park; several grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Donald Pearce.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John. By Murray's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in Murray's memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
