The death of Hazel Isabella Reid occurred on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Embassy Hall, Quispamsis. Born 1914 in Kingston, NB she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Neary) Redstone. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband James McNab Reid in 1973; sisters Doris Pearl Redstone and Anne Alexander; brothers David, Murray, George, Frederick, William, Alfred, Aldon, Otis, Samuel and John. Hazel was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly, Missionary Group, Charter Member of the LOBA; superintendent for United Church in early years, and Sunday school with the United Church. She is survived by her sons James Reid of Saint John, NB, Ernest Reid (Carol) of Tracy, NB and Richard Reid of Saint John, NB; sisters Bertha Smith of Beaver Dam, NB and Rose Pate of Brantford, ON; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great grandchild; four step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday October 24, 2010 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday October 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
