Reta Irene Abraham, family matriarch, formerly of Collingwood, Nova Scotia and recently London, Ontario died Tuesday evening at the University Hospital in London. The wife of the late Charles Soloman Abraham passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones. Her age was 95.
Reta was a mother, wife, grandmother and a great grandmother. She lived life to the fullest, loved to travel, and was known for her outgoing personality and business savvy. She and her husband Charlie founded Charles Abraham General Store in Collingwood from 1939, and ran it until their retirement in 1972. They loved to entertain and had many friends in the community of Collingwood, Nova Scotia and surrounding areas.
She will be missed by her children Joseph (Carole), Mary (Mike), Helen, Zickey (Najah), Ruby; her grandchildren Gary, Patricia, Mary-Jo, David, Lisa, Andrew and Nadia and her twelve great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Charlie and her grandson Jason Joseph Abraham, she was the last surviving member of the Awad family formerly of Truro, Nova Scotia.
Visitations will be held this Friday from 7 pm to 9 pm and Saturday 11 am to 2 pm at Allen's Funeral Home in Oxford, Nova Scotia. Committal to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to her son Joe's summer home in River Phillip located at 2074 Wyvern Road following the committal.
