SURETTE, Joseph Kenneth - 82 of Wedgeport passed away Monday, October 18, 2010 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Sluice Point, Yarmouth Co., he was the son of the late Arthur Surette and Zoe Surette (Bourque). Kenneth Surette was employed most of his life as a boat builder/carpenter. He enjoyed playing cribbage and dancing. He was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He always had a smile for all and had a wondeful sense of humour. His favorite saying after every meal was "Thank the Lord for this little bite - many man would call it a meal". Surviving are his daughters - Sharon (Garry) d'Entremont, Pubnico; Darlene Clements, Ontario; Debbie (Bernard) Doucette, Wedgeport; son Wayne Surette, Ontario; grandchildren Kevin (Debbie) d'Entremont, Ontario; Karen (Mike) Logan, Ontario; Darren (Tamara) d'Entremont, Ontario; Jody Surette, Ontario; Jeremy Surette, Ontario; Katrina (Stewart) Parrish, Ontario; Melanie Saulnier, Yarmouth; Marcel Saulnier, Yarmouth; Krystle Doucette, Yarmouth; 14 great granchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother Stanislas (Barbara) Surette, P.E.I.; and a sister Evelyn Stewart, Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine (Nickerson), and a brother, Bruno. Visitation took place at H. M. Huskilson's Funeral Home in Wedgeport, on Wednesday, October 20 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.. The funeral mass was held on Thursday, October 21 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Wedgeport, Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
