Howard was born August 27, 1937 in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, the eldest child of Donald and Helen Trudeau. He grew up in the Simmie area. In 1963 Howard attained his journeyman carpenter certificate and worked for several years in Swift Current. In May 1964 he married Lauretta Hornung. In 1969 Howard and Lauretta moved to Calgary where he continued working in the carpentry trade, eventually becoming a superintendant and overseeing many large commercial projects. For many years Howard suffered ill health and in 2009 he and Lauretta moved to Lake Cowichan to reside with their daughter and son inlaw. Howard passed away October 2, 2010 in Cowichan District Hospital, Duncan B.C. He is survived by wife Lauretta; children Rocky (Diana), Dawnette (Jim) and Daren (Louise) as well as four grown grandchildren, Ryan, Breanne, Jamie and Jordan. A memorial Mass took place Oct. 5, 2010 in Lake Cowichan, B.C.
