MARY ALICE McFADYEN

On Friday, October 22, 2010, Mary Alice McFadyen passed away at the age 95 years.
She was born on November 16, 1914 to pioneer parents Anthony and Elizabeth Tait and was raised on the family homestead near Codette, Saskatchewan. She received her schooling at one of the first one-room schools in the area.
Married to Graham McFadyen in 1941, Alice lived the "war years" at a number of RCAF postings in Ontario, Quebec and the eastern provinces, returning to Saskatchewan in 1946.
Predeceased by her husband, Graham in 1962, she is survived by son Terry (Virginia) McFadyen of Dawson Creek, B.C. and son Roy (Linda) McFadyen of Kamloops, B.C.; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish her memory are her brother Leroy (Arlene) Tait and family of Edson, Alberta.
Alice was a charter and life member of the Codette Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and served as secretary-treasure for many years. An active member of the Codette United Church, Alice at times was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the church choir.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was much loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
No formal service by request, cremation and urn interment at a later date.
