The passing of Douglas "Doug" Roy Jones of Burtts Corner, NB, husband of late Doris "Josephine" (Penny) Jones occurred on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 21, 1928 in Dorn Ridge, NB, he was the son of the late Delbert and Adelaide (Gallagher) Jones. He retired from Diamond Construction in 1988. Doug loved to socialize with people. Doug is survived by his two children, Jocelyn Morehouse and John (Carol); four grandchildren, Brice Morehouse (Wendy), Theresa McAllister (Jonathan), Matthew Jones and Stephanie Mead (Aaron); great grandsons, Colton, Jace and Reid; step great grandson, Josh; siblings, Freeman (Helen), Eugene (Glenna), Blanche Clark, Mardelle (Deverne) Scott, Eileen Blanchette and Edith Logan; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters; brothers-in-law, Dow, Eli and Fred.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 2 pm with Pastor Graham Crandall officiating. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrance may be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation of New Brunswick, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
