WENZL - John Wenzl, aged 76 years of Eastend, SK, died suddenly at his home in the Eastend District on Monday, March 30, 2009. He was born in Vienna, Austria, and came to Canada in 1952. He worked for the CPR and on Dairy Farms in Eastern Canada before making his way west to Southeast Alberta and Southwest Saskatchewan where he worked as a cowboy. He worked at various community pastures and ranches over the years. In 1974, he went to Oklahoma City where he spent a year taking his Farrier training and in later years he returned to teach portions of the course. John was a Master Farrier and enjoyed the opportunity to pass on his knowledge to the younger generations. At John’s request no service arrangements are being planned.
