It is with great sadness the we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Marilynne passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Wascana Grace Hospice in Regina. She was born in Moose Jaw on January 8th, 1939 to Art and Gladys Thompson. At the age of 4, mom decided to become a nurse and lived out that dream until retirement. During her working years, mom worked on the maternity ward and later with the Victorian Order of Nurses in Moose Jaw. She often said she that she loved every minute of her nursing career. After retirement, mom’s new love became golf and she was always the first one onto the green in the morning. Marilynne was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Leif Douglas Dutchek in September, 2004. She is survived by her two daughters: Sheri (Roger) Price and their sons Eric, Ryan and Ian of Vernon, British Columbia and Kathryn (Brantt) Fullerton and their daughters Wade and Halle of White City, Saskatchewan. Marilynne is also survived by her sisters Sherill (Mack) Holt, Sandi (Dirk) Froese, her brother Gary (Norma) Thompson, her brothers and sisters in-law: Harold Dutchek, Elaine (Maynard) Ruecker, Florence (Al) Nernberg, Edgar (Angie) Dutchek, Evelyn (Allen) Johnson, by her Aunt Myrle Brown, and by her several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will take place at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, 80 High St. E. Moose Jaw, on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Holtslander officiating. Cremation will precede the service with burial in Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK, S4T 7T1, or to St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 80 High St. E.
