The death of Mr. George S. Gauthier, husband of the late Bertha J. (McLeod) Gauthier occurred on November 6, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on April 23, 1930, he was the son of the late Alexander and Maryann Gauthier. George worked for Canadian Pacific Railway before he retired due to health reasons. His first love was the boat he and his wife Bertha owned, the “BG”, having made numerous trips up and down the Saint John and Kennebecasis Rivers with family and friends tagging along. He is survived by nieces and nephews, and first cousin Rev. Charles Goakery C.Ss.R. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Bertha, brothers Merlin, Frankie, Gerard, and sisters Gladys McCormick and Dora.
Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701) with visiting on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday at 12 noon from Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Following the interment a reception will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre.
