Gladys Winnifred Hunter (nee Bell) passed away peacefully at the Valley Park Manor Nursing Home, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the age of 95 years. Born in Outlook, Saskatchewan on October 1, 1913, Gladys moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan as a young woman, where she met and married James Hunter. Gladys was very active in Moose Jaw with her church, square dancing, Progressive Conservative Party, bowling and choir, to name a few. She lived a full life. In 2002, Gladys moved to Red Deer to be closer to her family. She is survived by her son, Thom and daughter-in-law Janet of Red Deer, two grandsons, James Hunter and Donald Hunter, both of Vancouver, B.C., sister Irene McBride of Surrey, B.C., sister-in-law, Norma Bell of Wiarton, Ontario, and her god daughter, Nancy Couzens of Moose Jaw. Gladys was predeceased by her husband, James, in 1987. A Celebration of Gladys’ life is being planned for the end of July in Moose Jaw.
