Mrs. Liza Sutherland – Born Perth, Scotland, Feb. 7, 1922. Passed peacefully away on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at North Haven Manor, Lewisporte. Predeceased by her husband George Slessor Sutherland. Left with many cherished memories her sons John (Yvonne), grandson Ian and Peter (Dolores), grandson Allan, sister Netta Law (Stanley) of Aberdeen, Scotland, niece Jennifer and nephew Gary of Aberdeen, Scotland, special friends Patsy Martin and Verna Manuel in addition to many others. Rested at Woolfrey’s Funeral Home, Lewisporte. Funeral was held at St. Matthew’s United Church, Lewisporte on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. A special thank-you to the staff of North Haven Manor and Dr. W. Collins. Liza was a long-term public librarian, Girl Guide leader and Central District Guide Commissioner. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewisporte Memorial Public Library and the Girl Guides of Canada.
