PICTOU – Margaret Gladys Diola Welsh, 63, of Three Brooks Rd, Pictou, passed away November 12, 2010, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late George Borden and Mary Diola Chennell.
Margaret enjoyed her long drives on the motorcycle, loved the water and was an avid swimmer, was independent and strong willed, and was a great mother and friend and will be sadly missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by children: Jody (Mary), Suzanne (Joseph) O’Donnell, both of Pictou; Aubrey, Wood Islands, PEI; Brandon Cheverie, Ron Cheverie, Danielle Nearing, Helene MacAulay, all of Pictou; grandchildren: ‘Kellie’ Bernice Morrison, John ‘Michael’ Welsh, Jimmy Welsh Kerr, Mackenzie Hiltz, Remi Alan Hiltz, Joseph and Danielle O’Donnell; companion, Ron Cheverie, Pictou; siblings: Bill, Rose, Arlie, Ernie, Wade, Allison.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; brother, ‘Bunn’ Chennell.
Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday from St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, with Rev. Bill White officiating. Burial will be in Seaview Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital.
