On June 17th, 2009, after courageously battling emphysema, our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, Evelyn Eva (Yvonne) Gollan, peacefully left her physical presence among us. Evelyn was the youngest daughter of four girls, born April 26, 1936, to Bertha and Christopher Winn in the Humboldt hospital. She spent her childhood in the Middle Lake area. Evelyn loved to work with numbers and worked in various bookkeeping positions. She continued to do so after she married Murdo David Gollan on August 16, 1958. While Murdo travelled as a boilermaker, Evelyn reared their four children. They moved often in the early years of their marriage, living in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and Holbein. While their children were still young, Evelyn and Murdo opened and operated PA Automatic Transmission Ltd. In 1978/9, they left the world of ‘business’ to farm in the Sandberg District, east of Prince Albert and continued to reside together in the home they built on the farm. Evelyn, Murdo, and the children, enjoyed many glorious summers at their cabin on Kidd Island in Lac LaRonge. Evelyn made many friends and found great enjoyment in her work for many years as a tax practioner at the H & R Block in Prince Albert. Evelyn is survived by her large family: her siblings Mabel K. Winn and Isabel G. Ivy (Joesph) - her Children, Lori L. Gollan (Brian de Montbrun), Robert M. Gollan (Mary), J. Scott J. Gollan (Beverly), Ronda Ruzyki (Dale); her Grandchildren: Ryan Bates (Jenny Culloden), Devon Bates (Jesse Lowes), Staci Bates (Daxus Benjamin), Amber Bates (Robert Wojcichowsky); Stephan Gollan, Christine Gollan (Dallas Millington), Raylene Gollan (Jarod Gabriel), Leah Gollan (Jeremy Mardell), Kera Gollan, Derek Ruzyki, David McCauley, Amelia Ruzyki, Jessie Gollan (Jeremy Mardell), Kera Gollan, Derek Ruzyki, David McCauley, Amelia Ruzyki, Jessie McCauley, Vanessa Ruzyki, - her Great Grandchildren: August Bates, McKenzie Bates, Chloe Bates, Cassidy Wintonyk, Jacob Bates Wojcichowsky, Lily Scott, Kadance Bates, Hayden Culloden and the Great-grandchild due in September; numerous nieces and nephews, and many many friends. Evelyn is predeceased by her parents Bertha and Christopher Winn, her sister Eileen Falkingham, her husband Murdo, and her grandchild Sarah Gollan. In lieu of flowers, it is the family’s request that those wishing to place donations may do so to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, 1231 8th Street East, Saskatoon, Sk. S7H 0S5. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the River Park Memorial Chapel, 301 River Street West, Prince Albert, SK.
