The passing of Robert “Bob” Vernon Murdoch of Fredericton, NB, husband of Elaine (Doane) Murdoch occurred on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 4, 1940 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Ruby (Donahue) Murdoch and the late Robert Murdoch. He was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church. In 1966, Bob founded D&M Autobody. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree; the Lions Club in Jemseg and the Elks Club. In addition to his mother and wife, Elaine of 49 years, Bob is survived by his children, Michael (Tara) Murdoch, Valerie (Peter) Egener and Steven (Jean) Murdoch; grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan and Christopher Egener, Kendra and Shane Murdoch, Jason, Michele and Brady Murdoch; siblings, Darrell (Eleanor) Murdoch, Verna (Bob) Shaw and Ronald Murdoch; several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by infant sister, Rowena and sisters, Nancy and Roberta Murdoch.
Although there will be no visitation; a Funeral Mass will take place at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 10 am with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in Hermitage Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the charity of the donor’s choice.
