
Hazel MacKenzie
SCOTSBURN – Hazel Alexander MacKenzie, 97, of Scotsburn, passed away November 15, 2010 in the Valley View Villa, Riverton.
Born in Scotch Hill, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Marion (Douglas) Morrison.
Hazel was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She loved animals and working on the farm, she also loved to walk. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She took a great interest in their lives and will be greatly missed by her family. She was an active member of the Bethel Ladies Aid and was a member of Princess Rebekah Lodge, Scotsburn.
Surviving are children: Elaine (John) Palfenier, Ottawa, Ont; Donald, Bruce (Cathy), and Raymond (Janet), all of Scotsburn; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, James A.; grandson, Darren Bruce; daughter-in-law, Heather; siblings: Mabel, Martha, Jean and Douglas.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Thursday from Bethel Presbyterian Church, Scotsburn, with Rev. Lara Scholey officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
