It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our mother Helen Cecilia Clements on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Helen was born in Lingan, she lived most of her life in Sydney but lived for over 20 years in Toronto and Mira Gut.
DeeDee was more than just a dedicated mother and homemaker, she cared for others; including the homeless and the poor by taking them into her home. She was always happy when talking on the airwaves with her CB friends.
She is survived by her seven children, John (Marilyn) Clements, New Waterford, Helen (Michael) Gill, Calgary, Alta., Malcolm Clements, Hamilton, Ont., Cecilia (Gordon) Dunn, Sydney, Dorothy Bateman, Glace Bay, Darlene Clements, Sydney, and Roy (Nancy) Clements, Calgary, Alta. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and lifelong friend Rose ‘Torchie’ Miles of New Waterford.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, John Clements in 2004 and two brothers, Russell ‘Dit’ Miller and Clifton Miller and her mother, Rae Miller.
Visitation for Mrs. Clements will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
