It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Faulkner, 83, of Sydney Mines, on June 20, 2009, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Head Jaddore, N.S., Sept. 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Fred and Sarah (MacIntyre) Faulkner. He was a member of St. Pius X parish, Sydney Mines.
Harold was an avid sailor and fisherman. He also loved camping with his friends at Black Rock.
He is survived by his loving wife, Delthine (Tobin) Faulkner; sons, Billy, Hughie, George and Ralph (Dale); foster daughter, Gail Faulkner; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by a son, Kevin, sister, Sadie Morris, and brothers, Hughie and Ralph.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A memorial mass to celebrate Harold’s life will be held in St. Pius X Church, Main Street, Sydney Mines, Tuesday, June 23 at 10 a.m., with Fr. Hughie MacNeil officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
