McKENZIE, Margaret Marie – 91, Pictou, formerly of Truro, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 17, 2010, in Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou. Born November 21, 1918, in Truro, Margaret was the daughter of the late Charles and Effie (Pearson) Betts. When she lived in Ontario, she attended and faithfully worked at her home church, Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. She also enjoyed reading. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Ann (Doug) Johnson, Kemptown; grandchildren, Heather (Arthur) Stewart, Camden; Shelley Johnson, Bible Hill; great grandchildren, Danielle, Jeremey and Taylor Stewart; several nieces. Along with her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her first husband, Edwin Hill; second husband, Joseph L. McKenzie; one son in infancy; brother, Harold Betts. Special thanks are extended to the entire staff at Shiretown Nursing Home for their exceptional care and understanding.
