Rutheen Scott, 66, of Moncton, N.B., with her loving family and friends at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday morning, Nov. 17, 2010.
Born in Truro, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Layton and Erma (McLean) Hicks.
Rutheen was a former employee of the Department of National Defence and former member of the Beaver Curling Club. Besides curling, Rutheen enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on P.E.I. and collecting beach glass, walking, holidays spent in the Middle East and the Caribbean area, flower gardening, reading, playing cards and precious time spent with her family, especially her grandson, Jesse.
Rutheen will be sadly missed by her husband of 46 years, Robert “Bob†Scott; daughters, Andrea and Jo-Ann; her precious grandson, Jesse; sister, Audrey Leslie; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Yvonne Ferguson.
In keeping with Rutheen’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. Celebration of Life Service for Rutheen will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton, N.B., (506-858-1995), Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, 3:30 pm. Reception in the funeral home reception centre following the service.
In Rutheen’s memory, donations to the ALS Society of New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family.
