Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre on Friday, June 20, 2009, following a lengthy battle with leukemia, age 71 years. Predeceased by his parents, Sylvester and Elsie of Bell Island. Also, predeceased by his brother Graham and sister-in-law Florence and sister Linda and brother-in-law Winston. Leaving to mourn, with precious memories, his wife of 40 years, Helena (Hawco), daughter Donna (Rick), son David (Tamara), and two wonderful, grandsons Brett and Jordan. Also, leaving to mourn sisters Audrey Decker (Bob), Myrna Sullivan (Bill) and brothers Fred (Millie), Bill (Helen), and Ross (Carol), numerous nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Faith Pentecostal Church, Foxtrap Access Road on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment in the Pentecostal Cemetery, Readers Hill Road, Long Pond, Conception Bay South. No flowers by request.
