Jan. 8, 1931 - June 20, 2009. Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Hospital, Alphonsus Joseph Mulcahy (First Mayor of Bay Bulls) at the age of 78. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 48 years Elizabeth (Betty) nee Bishop. His sons Carl (Barb), Craig (Sherry), his daughters Colleen Walsh and Diane. 11 grandchildren, Corey, Chris, Shawn, Stephen, Ryan and Lee Mulcahy, Stephanie Dunne, Jeremy, Kyle, Cody and Amber Walsh. His sister Rosalie Noonan (New York), sister-in-law Frances Mulcahy. Many brothers and sisters in-law of the Bishop family and a large number of nieces and nephews from both families. Also leaving to mourn his good friends Allan O’Driscoll, Gerard O’Driscoll, Lar Puddister, Jackie Carey, Sandra Carew and their families. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation Sunday and Monday from 2 p.m - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mount Loretta RC Cemetery.
