WALSH, John (Jack) – April 24, 1935 - October 9, 2008. On October 9th, after a lengthy struggle with cancer, Jack was quickly and quietly called into Heaven in the presence of his family. Jack was an accomplished athlete and a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Hall of Fame. He was also very passionate about politics. He will be forever loved and missed by his lifelong friend, the love of his life and soul mate, his wife Pat Walsh (nee Molloy); his children: Kenneth (Jacquie), John (Andrea), Barry (Pamela) and Gaea Oake (Jim); his dearly beloved grandchildren: Jack, Kyla, Ella, Aquilla, Sclahna; his sisters: Joan Holwell, Rose Kimmins; his brothers: Jim (Frances); his sister-in-law St. Mary Molloy; his very special niece Sharon Cochran; his brothers-in-law: Kevin Molloy (Dawn) and Ed Molloy (Kelly); as well as a large number of nieces and nephews, His incredible presence will leave a huge void among his many very loyal and very dear friends whom he treasured. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at CaulFuneral Home, LeMarchant Road on Saturday, October 11th, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday, October 12th from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, October 13th at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church, Smithville Crescent.
