
Therese Melanson
Thérèse Melanson, 76 of Moncton, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Sunday November 21, 2010 at the Dr. Georges-L.Dumont Hospital. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Agnes (LeBlanc) Melanson. She was an Assistant to the Director of Continuing Education with the University of Moncton for over 30 years prior to her retirement. Thérèse devoted her career and her life to helping others, most notably the many students that crossed her path. Thérèse played a prominent role in organizing the Papal Visit to Moncton in 1984. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary 1310, a long standing member of the Beausejour Curling Club in Moncton, a member of the Université du Troisième Age at UdeM as well as many other prominent committees, associations and clubs throughout her life. She will be sadly missed by her sister, Jeanette Christie (Kenneth) of Moncton; two brothers: Normand (Thérèse), Emery (Jacqueline) all of Grande-Digue; a sister in law: Huberte Melanson of Grande-Digue and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Laurie.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette’s Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. ONLY. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Louis-de-France R.C. Church (Lewsiville) on Wednesday November 24, 2010 at 11 a.m. In memory of Thérèse, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. www.frenettefuneralhome.com
