Douglas Elmer MacDonald
August 14, 1963 – November 16, 2010
On November 16th, 2010, Douglas passed away suddenly but peacefully as he was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife and best friend Brenda and his two beautiful daughters, Julia and Cassie, his mother Esther, his three sisters Sherry (Scott) Arsenault, Judy (Pat) Hogan and Lori (Ron) Sumners, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Audrey and Peter Dzendzel as well as his sisters-in-law Karen (Peter) Chouinard, Diana (Glenn) Schneider, Cindy Funk, Larry Quaiscer and numerous nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by his father Harold MacDonald. Doug enjoyed golfing, cycling, hiking, fishing, canoeing and cheering on his favorite football team. Doug took great pride in attending the extra-curricular activities in which his daughters participated. Doug had a passion for adventure and travel vacations with his family. He willingly volunteered his time to Forest Grove Community Church as well as the Saskatoon Hub City Optimist Club. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Doug was blessed with the gift of knowledge. With this gift, he was a great problem solver, was very mechanically inclined and through self-teaching, acquired the skill to drywall for himself and others. As a dedicated employee of SaskTel for 28 years, he specialized and excelled in data and wireless technology. Surrounded by numerous fellow colleagues, Doug thoroughly enjoyed his work and had wonderful rapport with all those he came in touch with. Doug had a very outgoing, caring and comforting personality. His laugh was distinct and one of a kind. He was a child at heart and had a great sense of humor which his friends and family enjoyed sharing with him. Doug touched so many lives and will be missed as he begins his life with our Heavenly Father. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Doug’s life at Forest Grove Community Church, 502 Webster Street, Saskatoon, SK on Monday, November 22 at 1:00pm. Interment is to take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, SK following the service. We invite friends and family to gather at the church to share lunch.
