Alice Elizabeth Sullivan, age 85, of Windsor, passed away peacefully and gently as was her nature, on Saturday, November 6, 2010, in the Windsor Elms Village, 590 King Street, Windsor. Born on August 6, 1925, in Montreal, Quebec, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Gladys (Paxton) Parry. Alice was well known for working at the KaBe Dress Shop, Water Street, Windsor, for over 13 years before retiring. During the Second World War, she was an instrument mechanic for the Commonwealth Air Training Plan, Canada Air, Quebec. Alice was very active in Fairfield Chapter No. 22, Order of the Eastern Star, the Daughters of the Nile, a volunteer for the Chief & Petty Officers Association sick and visiting, and also the Windsor Meals on Wheels Program. Alice is survived by her husband of 65 years, William J. "Spike" Sullivan, CPO RCN ret'd.; her children, Tim (Wendy) Sullivan, Dartmouth; Karen (Eric) Stephens, Windsor; granddaughter, Amy (Scott) Harris, Dartmouth and their children, Olivia and Cameron; grandson, Craig (Pam) McBay, Legal, Alberta and their children, Devynne and Seth; brothers, Dick Parry, Victoria, British Columbia; Tom (Arlene) Parry, Edmonton, Alberta; sister, Billie Bertrand, Calgary, Alberta. Besides her parents, Fred and Gladys (Paxton) Parry; Alice was predeceased by her son, Shaun Sullivan (2003); and by a brother, Ernest Parry. Cremation has taken place. Visitations were 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday, November 8, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, where Fairfield Chapter No. 22, O.E.S., held a tribute at 7 p.m., followed by the Daughters of the Nile. Many "Thanks", to Dr. Jim Leahy, and the care giving Angels, at the Windsor Elms Village. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010, in Christ Church Anglican, 543 King Street, Windsor. The Rev. David Curry officiated, followed by a reception i9n the Christ Church Parish Hall. Interment was in the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. Donations in memory of Alice, were requested to be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to the Windsor Elms Village.
