Mary Jean Rehberg, age 84, of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on September 11, 1926, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Victoria (Henry) Crawley. On Monday, we, her 18 children gathered together to say good-bye to our loving Mother, who carried us through all sorts of good times as well as the bad. Mary was a strong person, who cared deeply for her family and who worked hard to make us the individuals we are today. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was the family "Glue" to bind us together. Hopefully in the future, we can stay as strong as she made us! Mary is survived by her children, Peter (Doreen) Rehberg, Falmouth; Douglas (Tamara) Rehberg, Hantsport; Gregory (Glenna) Rehberg, Falmouth; Michael (Debbie) Rehberg, Mississauga, Ontario; Raymond (Allena) Rehberg, Falmouth; Victoria (Gerry) Parfitt, Falmouth; Marianne (Darrell) Boutilier, Windsor; Elizabeth "Betty" (Butch) Lavers, Ellershouse; Sharon (James) MacLeod, Falmouth; Kathleen Sargent, Mississauga, Ontario; Anna Leopold (Ron Mosher), Windsor; Madonna "Donna" Young (Malcolm Stone), Calgary, Alberta; Richard (Brenda) Rehberg, Falmouth; Jacqueline (Stephen) Waddell, Windsor; Paulette (Stephen) LeBlanc, Falmouth; Granville Rehberg, Halifax; James Rehberg, Halifax; Annette (Steven) Aker, Falmouth; 42 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Raymond (Linda) Crawley, Bridgewater; Wayne (Mary) Crawley, Spryfield; Anne (John) Webb, Stellarton; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Frank and Victoria (Henry) Crawley; Mary was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James "Jim" Julius Gregory Rehberg (1995); her daughter, Marlene Rehberg; son-in-law, Richard Sargent; grandson, Jason Waddell; granddaughter, Rachel Sargent; her siblings, Margaret Rehberg; Dorothy O'Hara; Frank Crawley; John "Jack" Crawley; Gerry Crawley; Kenneth Crawley; Jim Crawley; and Graham Crawley. Visitations were 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral Mass was 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 339 King Street, Windsor. The Rev. Fr. Craig Christenson officiated. Interment was in St. John's Parish Cemetery, Wiley Ave., followed by a reception at Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Reception Centre. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Mary, were requested to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
