Sara Murphy (née Penner) was born April 18, 1921 in Waldheim, Saskatchewan. She married Bill Murphy in Quesnel, B.C. in 1947, and raised a family together. She is survived by her five children, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Bill and Sara lived in various places in B.C., but spent many of their years in Kamloops. Sara loved to spend her time with her family, cooking, gardening, scrabbling, and thoroughly enjoying life. She spent her most recent years in Chilliwack, B.C., and throughout all of her life remained an inspiration for her family. Sara radiated kindness and strength that showed us all the importance of happiness and love for friends and family.

Mom, we are so thankful for the lifetime we have shared with you, and you will always be the cherished Mother and Grandmother we were so blessed to have.

A special thank you to the staff of the Waverly Seniors Village in Chilliwack who cared for our beloved Mother like a member of their own family, and the wonderful health care team at Chilliwack General Hospital who gave her the best care possible in her last days.
