Dolina "Dolly" Rector, age 87 of Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Thorburn, passed away November 28, 2010 in the Villa.
Born in Piedmont, November 17, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Robert M. and Annie Jane (Auld) Rector.
Dolly lived all her life in Thorburn before moving to Valley View Villa. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn.
She is survived by a son, Terry (Darlene) Rector, Mt. William; daughter, Bonnie Rector (Swain Jobe), Hopewell; granddaughters: Brenda and Janet Rector, Michael Slowik and Caitlin Jobe; great-grandchildren: Christian, Katelyn, and Macayla; brothers, William "Billy", New Glasgow; Norman, Riverton; sister, Bessie Munro, BC. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews especially her niece, Susan Rector.
She was predeceased by sisters, Alexina Marshall and Mary MacAulay; brothers: John, James, and Daniel Rector.
Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn, with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in the Thorburn Cemetery.
