Rose, Grace Elizabeth (McCallum) - Grace passed away unexpectedly November 29, 2010 at the DECH. Born April 26, 1924 in Toronto (Go Leafs! Go Jays!), she was the only child of Mabel and Harvey McCallum. Grace proudly served in WWII with the CWAC in Ontario and BC. She and the boys moved to Fredericton in 1971, via Oromocto and Yarmouth. As a 50+ year cancer survivor, she proudly wore her bright yellow shirt around the Relay route. Mom would be delighted that Dalhousie Medical School was able to accommodate her wish to donate her body for medical research. She was a dedicated member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, the Grace Matheson Mission Circle, the Tuesday Morning Book Club, the Barkers Point Half-Century Club, and Branch #4 of The Royal Canadian Legion, but she was most proud of her family. Grace is survived by her three children: daughter Marg Dines, her three sons - Jason & Jennie (Mitton) and great-granddaughter Emily; and Graham, all of Marysville; and Jeremy & Maya (Popova-Dines) of Edmonton; and daughter Arielle Dines and great-grandson Daemon Smith of Ft McMurray; her son Malcolm with whom she resided; and son Bob & Fran (Morehouse), their daughter Kim & Davie Mossman, great-grandchildren Ceywanna & Cyndi Lofstrom and Grace & Acadia Mossman of Marysville; son Alex & Beth Meyers of Devon; son Jeff & Krista (Trail) and great-grandsons Stephen, Joshua and Caleb of Harvey Station. She will be deeply missed by friends Ethel McQuinn and Dorothy Wilson. She was predeceased by her father (1956), her mother (Nov 30, 1966), her husband, S/Sgt Norman Rose (July 1966), and son-in-law Sherman (1989).
Friends are invited to join the family in celebration of a life well-lived on Sunday, December 5, at 7:00 pm at Grace Memorial Baptist Church, 536 Northumberland St. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are asked to assemble prior to the service to prepare for a Legion Tribute.
