Dow, Helen Eileen, 87, of The Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton and formerly of Wheaton Settlement and Saint John passed away Tuesday December 1, 2010 at her home with her loving sister Donna at her side. Born in Turtle Creek, Albert County she was a daughter of the late Walter and Beatrice (Cole) Lounsbury. Helen was an active member of Lancaster Baptist Church and the W.M.S. of the church; a member of the Eastern Star, Regina Chapter No. 39, Petitcodiac; Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 69; The South Bay Opals (Past President) and the Lancaster Diamonds Seniors. Survived by her children Gerald Leaman (Lynn) of Ottawa, Sheila Galipeau (late Paul) of Upper Coverdale, daughters in law Betty Hallihan and Loretta Leaman of Wheaton Settlement; brothers Clinton Lounsbury (Edna), Stanley Lounsbury (Jean), Elwyn (Bud) Lounsbury (Irene), George Lounsbury (Joan), Norval (Jack) Lounsbury (Mary); sisters Jessie Blakeney (late Dean), Eleanor Wright (late Howard), Donna Gillies (Roy); 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by husbands Orville Leaman, Earl Chapman, Allan Dow; sons Ivan and Bruce Leaman; twin infant brothers and a brother Gary; sisters Jennie Lounsbury, Marilyn Gilmore and Edna Graham and grandchildren Peter and Stacey Leaman.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visitation Friday 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 4, 2 p.m. until Funeral at 3 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Harold MacDonald officiating. Interment at the Wheaton Settlement Cemetery at a later date.
