Raymond Keith "Ray" Meehan
Meehan, Raymond Keith, "Ray", 81, Truro, passed away suddenly, Thursday, December 2, 2010 at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Thomas and Audrey (Walters) Meehan. Ray retired from the Army as a cook. He was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. He enjoyed playing music, pool, bowling, golf and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Isobel (Hayden) Meehan; daughter Brenda Esau of Brookside; grandchildren, Nevin, Leanne, Amy; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Jacob, Katie, Charley, Josie; daughter-in-law Carol Meehan of Debert; brother Patrick (Shirley) of Thunder Bay, ON.
He was predeceased by a son Randy; son-in-law Ralph Esau; sisters, Terri, Josephine, Sharon.
No visitation by request. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Truro, will conduct a Legion Tribute Service on Tuesday at 2 pm followed directly by a funeral service with Rev. Donald McQueen officiating, all in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Colchester Legion Building Foundation.
