Irenee Cormier

1932 - 2010 - Irénée Cormier, 78 of Notre-Dame passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family, on December 3rd, 2010 at the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital. Born in Cocagne, he was the son of the late Alyre and the late Elise Cormier. He worked in the paving construction industries and retired in 1995. An avid gardener and woodsman, Irénée was very generous of spirit, always lending a hand to family, friends and neighbours. He had a great sense of humour, often making those around him laugh. He is survived by his wife, Thérèse (Dupuis) Cormier; one son Roger (Marisa Piccini) of Dieppe; three daughters, Ginette Arsenault (Norman) of Shediac Bridge, Pauline Rose (late Norman) of Irishtown, Diane Cormier (Martin Renaud) of Dieppe; four sisters, Germaine Brodie (late Frank), Stella Poirier (late Alonzo), Orise Landry (late Henri) all of Moncton, Anna Mazerolle (René) of Notre-Dame; four grandchildren, Cynthia, Keith, Jérémy, Sébastien, and two great-grandchildren Parker and Kurt as well as many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Leona Babineau (late Gerry) and Jeannita (in infancy); and five brothers Léonide, Maxime, Camille, Georges and Alphé.
Resting at Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Notre-Dame on Monday, December 6th, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:45pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Notre-Dame Church on Tuesday, December 7th, 2010 at 3:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery.
