It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Patrick Beagan, age 67 years, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, December 5, 2010, following a courageous battle with COPD. He was carried safely home in the arms of Jesus to meet his eternal Father.
Mike was an ordinary man who touched people's hearts in extraordinary ways. Loving husband of Leona (nee Gill). Cherished father of Cathy (Kenny) Flood, Herb (Katie Wright) and Michael Francis. Beloved son of the late Herbert and Catherine (Corrigan) Beagan. Dear brother of Joseph and Louis (Pauline). Predeceased by his brother, Tom (Doreen), and his four infant sisters, whom he referred to as his little angels. Son-in-law of the late William and Helen (O'Connor) Gill. Brother-in-law of Clara (Bob) Zamagni, Margaret (Earl) Proctor, Billy (Margaret) Gill, Sheila (John) Hayden, Therese (Ernie) Davey, Geri (Richard) Gallant, Leo (Cathy) Gill, Freda (Brian) Avery, Bernadette (George) MacInnis and Helen (Mark) Lanigan. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, with visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Patrick's Church, Fort Augustus. Interment will follow at Mt. Ryan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the PEI Lung Association or the Mt. Ryan Cemetery Fund, would be appreciated.
Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service on Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
