It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Morgan at the Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital on Dec. 4, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in South Bar, Dorothy was the daughter of the late John Alfred and Mary Anne (Allen) Drover.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception parish in Sydney Mines, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 8, Sydney Mines.
Dorothy loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed a good game of cards.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Wallace; daughter, Juanita (Gerry Carr), Guleph, Ont.; son, Alfred 'Al' (Brent), Lantz, N.S.; six grandchildren, Gregory, Kevin, Stephen, Vicki, Jennifer and Jason; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Catherine (Wally) Aitkens, Westmount.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by daughters, Louise and Monica, sisters, Marg, Irene, Bess, Beatrice and Frances and brothers, Jack, Wilson and Norm.
Visitation for Dorothy Morgan will be held in the J.M Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Tuesday, Dec. 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass celebrating her life will take place Thursday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Thomas John officiating. The burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
