September 2nd, 1953-December 3rd, 2010. Passed peacefully away after a short, but courageous battle with cancer, Friday, December 3rd, 2010, James William Roberts, formerly of Brigus, Conception Bay - Aged 57 years. Leaving to carry on his legacy are his wife Gola, son James and daughter Kimberly. Predeceased by his beloved father James Henry Roberts and adored mother-in-law Dorothy Andrews. Leaving to remember him fondly are his sisters and brothers Helen (Zvonko) Toronto, ON., John, Toronto, ON., Anthony (Debbie), Miramichi, NB., Campbell (Lynn), Toronto, ON., Ronald (Brenda), Mount Pearl, NL., Edith, Washington State. Also, cousins, as well as Gladys Roberts and her sons William and Yancy Curl, his sister-in-law Daphne Newhook (Harold) and many inherited family members who over the past 38 years have shared his life. As well, his co-workers and many associates in the field of health inspection, Brethren from the Masonic Order (Lodge Westmoorland), Compass Shrine Club, Anchormen Barbershop Chorus and other special friends. Visitation will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John's on Sunday, December 5th from 7-9pm; Monday, December 6th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm; and Tuesday, December 7th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 8th, 2010 at 11am from Gower Street United Church. Cremation to follow and interment to take place at a later date. A luncheon to celebrate Jim's life will be held immediately following the service at the Freemasons Hall, Mount Pearl.
